Hey there, I’m Circlejourney, an artist who grew up in Singapore!
All my life, I’ve had an insatiable creative thirst, and as a creator, I’ve dabbled in almost every medium: art, animation, writing, music, web design, game-making, sometimes all in combination… As a teen, I learned to draw by doodling on my homework and the backs of my parents’ medical notes. All my art back then was Pokemon / Fire Emblem / Fruits Basket fan art, or art for my own stories. I finally got a chance to learn art formally when I did my Animation BFA, and now, I work as a commission artist between pursuing a Master’s degree in Interactive Media, contributing to community projects, and writing my web novel.
I’m a huge aficionado of group and community projects, and it wasn’t till I participated in Twitch Plays Pokemon that I came out of my shell and started sharing my fan art with the world. The rest is history :>
As both artist and musician, I’ve participated in several Homestuck fan albums, the fanventures Vast Error and Inhospitable, and a couple of projects with Handshake Collaborations, an international artist collective (my art is on the cover of their latest zine, Solar Sessions). I’m currently also running a Steven Universe fan album, @songsfromtheplanetearth! I enjoy working with others and love seeing what emerges when we create together.
As far as the future goes, I’ve met so many cool people through creative collaboration, and I hope to keep doing so. I’d also love to have my webcomic out sometime in 2019!
